EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

 

Employee engagement can be described as the emotional commitment of the employees to the organization and the organizational goals. On the other word, this can be expressed as feeling passionate about employees on their jobs. (Kruse, 2012, Custominsight.com, 2019) When employees have employee engagement they are committed to the organizational values and goals, motivated and contribute their best to the organization. Employee engagement depends on communication between employees and organization, trust, integrity. This is a good approach to the success of the business and also individual performance, well-being and productivity. (Engage for Success, 2015) Otherwise when the workplace has employee engagement in their employees are motivated and caring about their jobs.

Why employee engagement is important

·        It will improve the productivity and innovation of the workplace

·        It will reduce the absenteeism of the employees

·        It will improve the retention of talented people

·        It will reduce accidents and incidents

·        It will improve employee wellbeing

·        It will increase profitability and customer satisfaction

How to enhance the engagement of employees

When considering the employee engagement organization able to get many actions to develop the employee engagement within the organization. Some of them can be identified as below.

·        Emphasize your mission and model core values of the organization

·        When giving the feedbacks to employees need to prioritize them

·        Need to arrange volunteer opportunities

·        Need to maintain the mental and physical health of the employees

·        Need to identify the performance of the employees and based on the need to reward achievements

·        Able to conduct surveys on employee engagement

·        Arrange company outings

·        Able to offer opportunities to professional development and develop career paths

·        Provide employees with flexibility

·        Able to train managers about the employee engagement

Plan to enhance engagement

When an organization develops a plan to enhance engagement some actions need to be arranged by the organization. When developing this plan need to consider all levels of employees of the organization. Step by step can be identified this plan as below then can identify each year how will works with these steps.

·        Need to identify what do organization need

·        Solicit employee feedback

·        Analysis of the data

·        Design initiatives

·        Get the feedback of the initiatives

·        Start over

In here need to create a plan for three years and once surveyed to collect the data then able to done analyzing the data. After that able to identify what organization need to do and able to identify an action plan to achieve the things which need to the organization.

Benefits to the organization by enhancing employee engagement

·        Increase the productivity and innovation of the workplace and also develop the employee motivation also

·        Increase the employee satisfaction level and it is positively affected by the business

·        The lower attrition rate of the organization

·        Able to the better work-life balance of the employees. Once an organization has a good working environment it is good for employees and they are in happy. This situation will help to achieve their individual goals

·        Increase the revenue growth of the organization. The organization has a goal and all employees know it. Then all are work to achieve one common goal then it will lead to achieving financial benefits too.
