Why does the organization need to develop the employees?

 

Employee Development can be described as often referred to as professional development or staff development is the process during which employees, with the support of their employer, go through professional training or pursue learning opportunities to improve heir skills and grow their knowledge and careers. (Valamis, 2021)

Employees are very important part to the organization. Talented and skillful employees are valuable assets to the organization. Today modern world most of the businesses believe key factors of the business is employees.

·       When organization has performed employee’s organization able to achieve goals

·       Successful employees pay attention to meet deadlines, build organizational brand via customer interaction and make sales

·        Once employees do not perform effectively organization has to face many problems

·       When employee done their job effectively and efficiency customers also get positive image with the organization

According to the current practices of the most companies’ employees are not expected effectively and efficiency level so able to get actions to develop them. (Leonard, 2019)

Most effective employee development methods

When describe the employee development methods there are many methods can be identified and some of them are very effective than other methods. Most of the organizations use these methods to develop their employees according to their needs and wants. Specially most of them use training as listed method to develop employees.

People of the organization react differently to these each types and success depends on the person being trained and what they are learning. 

Even with those differences, there are some methods that are more effective than others, and those are:

·       Coaching

·       Mentoring

·       Workshops/Committees/Working-Groups

·       Simulations

·       Conferences

·       On-the-job training

·       Self-study

The importance employee development and how does the organization achieve competitive advantages:


When describe the talented people who are very important assets to the organization. They are become competitive advantage to the organization as below can be identify the factors regarding it. (Jassim, 1998). When describe the importance of employee development can be identify some factors as below,

l  Strategic value to the organization (adds value to employee’s area of expertise and it is contributing substantially)

l  Rare (Unique in terms of knowledge, abilities and skills except to qualify as rare)

l  Appropriable (This resource is owned by the organization)

l  Inimitable (Cannot be replaced)

l  Cannot be substituted (No match for the talent of the employee)

l  Employee development is important for employees to enhance their skills and upgrade their existing knowledge in order to perform better.

l  Employee development is important not only for professional but also personal growth of employees.

l  Employee development is essential for extracting the best out of employees.

l  Employee development creates a learning culture in the organization where every employee is motivated to learn new skills and acquire new learnings.

l  Employee development helps an employee to do a self-analysis of himself/herself

l  Employee development also goes a long way in strengthening the relationship among employees. (Managementstudyguide.com, 2015)
